Code of Ethics

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, this is designed to protect yourself the client and myself the counsellor. If you would like further information I am happy to discuss this further.

Alternatively you can look on www.bacp.co.uk/ethical framework for more in depth information.

All our work together is confidential, there are some exceptions to this, which I will discuss in more detail at our first meeting.

This is clearly discussed in the Contract between myself the Counsellor and you the Client, which will be signed by both parties if in agreement prior to commencement of therapy.

I have a valid DBS certificate and Personal Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

I abide by the GDPR, which is a mandatory requirement bought in May 2018. This sets out the main principles of data protection, and the responsibilities I have when handling your personal data.

It is a Legal and Ethical requirement providing protection and transparency of your information and how it is stored.  Your personal information will be stored securely and confidentially. Any electronic devices will be password protected. Any information will be locked away securely.
